Cycling day trip from Poprad to Strba

Set out from the lively town of Poprad, known as the gateway to the High Tatras, and cruise your way over to beautiful Štrba! This ~20.5 km ride is perfect for cyclists who enjoy gentle climbs, with a total ascent of about 350 meters. Most of the route is on smooth asphalt or designated cycleways, winding through peaceful scenery rather than busy roads.

Poprad itself is a vibrant little city with a charming old town and stunning mountain views. As you head west, you’ll spend most of your journey on quiet roads or bike paths, gently rising towards Štrba—a pretty village perched near the foothills of the Tatras.

Along the way, you’ll catch glimpses of the mountains and pedal past small settlements and green meadows. With just a little missing surface here and there, most of your ride will be fast and easy. Once you reach Štrba, you’re in a great spot to relax or even plan a side trip to one of the region’s scenic lakes or hiking trails. Bring your camera and enjoy the mountain air!
