Cycling day trip from Nowy Targ to Niedzica

Ready for a beautiful ride through southern Poland? Set off from Nowy Targ, a vibrant town that’s known as the gateway to the Dunajec Valley, and head towards the fairytale-like Niedzica, famous for its dramatic lakeside castle.

This 34 km route is mostly smooth sailing, as about 95% of the way is paved (a dream for road bikes!). You’ll spend a good chunk rolling along dedicated cycle paths and quiet roads, with gentle undulating hills offering a bit of a challenge—just under 353 meters of climbing, but more descent, so your legs will thank you for the fun downhill stretches.

As you approach your destination, keep an eye out for the gorgeous views of the Czorsztyńskie Lake and, of course, Niedzica Castle perched picturesquely above the water. It’s a storybook spot to end your ride and snap some photos! Overall, it’s a relaxed ride with great mountain and river scenery, perfect for a half-day cycling adventure.
