Quick ride by bicycle from Lublin to Świdnik

This easygoing cycling route takes you from Lublin, eastern Poland’s vibrant university city, to the nearby town of Świdnik. The distance is just under 20 km—perfect for a relaxed ride that shouldn’t take much more than an hour and a half, especially as most of the way sticks to smooth, paved surfaces and dedicated cycleways.

You’ll start out in Lublin, famous for its charming Old Town and energetic cultural scene, then head southeast. Expect mostly asphalt under your wheels, with a few patches of paving stones and brief sections of gravel to keep things interesting. The route’s gentle inclines (just a bit over 100 meters up, 85 meters down) mean you can spin along at your own pace without much effort.

As you roll into Świdnik, you’ll recognize it as the “Aviation Town” – the city has deep roots in the aviation industry, including its renowned helicopter factory. Grab a snack at one of the local cafés before you head back or hop on the train for a quick return to Lublin!
