By bicycle from San Vigilio to Riscone

This route takes you from the charming alpine village of San Vigilio di Marebbe, tucked into the Dolomites, all the way to Riscone, a gateway to Brunico and the famous Plan de Corones ski area. The ride covers nearly 20 km, but don’t let the distance fool you—this is a true mountain adventure! With more than 1000 meters of ascent (and even more descent), and much of the riding on gravel or forest tracks, expect a mix of challenging climbs, fast descents, and some technical sections. You’ll pedal past lush forests, meadows, and likely have plenty of impressive panoramas.

San Vigilio is known for its Ladin culture and as a base for exploring the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park. At the end, Riscone is famous among skiers and hikers, sitting just below the cable cars up to Kronplatz. Bring a sturdy bike and a sense of adventure—the quiet, mostly unpaved tracks mean you’ll feel far away from the crowds as you traverse this spectacular Dolomite landscape.
