By bicycle from Vysehrad to Old Town

This bike ride takes you from the historic Vyšehrad fortress, perched over the Vltava River, to the heart of Prague’s vibrant Old Town. It’s just over 5 km, so perfect for a leisurely pedal—and you’ll cover a mix of surfaces, with most of it on smooth asphalt, though there’s a sprinkle of old cobblestones as you get closer to the city center. Expect a couple of short climbs (but more downhill overall!), making the route friendly for most riders.

Vyšehrad is a great place to start, surrounded by ancient walls, peaceful gardens, and those classic Prague skyline views. The route sticks mostly to quiet roads and dedicated cycleways—ideal for soaking up the riverside atmosphere as you roll north. As you approach Old Town, you’ll wind through pedestrian areas and some lively, narrow lanes, eventually popping out near Staroměstské náměstí, the famous Old Town Square.
