Dunkirk NY to North East PA

This was one wonderful route today. First, the weather was perfect: Sunny and chilly in the morning with temperatures in the low 50s by afternoon. And, for the first time in several weeks, no gale force headwinds...just some under 10 mph.

Second, the roads couldn't have been better. County Rt 78 west from Fredonia was really nice wtth low traffic and pleasant scenery. And New York Rt 5/Bicycle Rt 517, which was the bulk of the ride was wonderful with low traffic and mostly good shoulder...along with very nice scenery through vineyards and along the coast of Lake Erie.

Westfield and its old lighthouse were particularly nice.
