About This Route

This moderate cycle begins in Abingdon, and takes the Sustrans cycle path south to Sutton Courtenay. Here, a track leads behind the quarry to the railway at Appleford, where the route leads you past the cottages and church and along the River Thames to Long Wittenham. From here quiet roads lead through Little Wittenham to Days' Lock, where paths continue into the sleepy village of Dorchester. These can be muddy. Along the River Thame you will reach Drayton St Leonards, and from here tracks and a back lane will lead to Burcot and Clifton Hampden. A path behind Culham Science Centre will lead back into Abingdon.

Due to muddy riverside paths, this route is best between May and September
