- Saturday, August 9, 2008 - 1st Stage: Lidingö - Stockholm + boat + Mariefred - MalmköpingKm 10 + 47 = 57. Departure with sun and thunderstorm in the afternoonWe depart at 9:00 from Flavio's house with nice sunshine and a fresh breeze heading towards the center of Stockholm by the port of Lake Mälaren and at 10:00 we board the steamship which after 61 km of sailing will drop us off at 13:30 in the harbor of Mariefred. On the bike path among forests and lakes, we head towards Åkers Styckebruk and at Söderlanna we turn left onto the national road 55. Near Björndammen, caught in a strong thunderstorm, we find shelter under the roof of a garage and after half an hour we get back to cycling to cover the last 15 km remaining to reach the Plevnagarden hotel in Malmköping.
