The B881 continues to climb as it leaves the town passing Rothesay Leisure Centre, Rothesay Academy and Rothesay Primary School - all on the right. The route opens out the fine views of Loch Fad on the right and the mountains of the Isle of Arran ahead. after a speedy descent the B881 twists and turns before its junction with the A844. Turning right, Scalpsie Bay opens out the left and within a short distance a car park can be found on the left. From this car park, dismount and a path leads to Scalpsie Bay shore.
