Folowing the Cowichan Valley Railway. Loose gravel is main path/road surface. 3% grade standard grade for common railway routes. From Lake Cowichan back to 70.2 trestle is on rough foot path with steep hills up and down,caution is advised. Otherwise return from Lake Cowichan CVR trail. Distance  return 80-100 km
