About this route
This is the famous 9-mile stretch of highway known as Pike2Bike. It is a stretch of the original superhighway - the Pennsylvania Turnpike, that was abandoned because of the use of 2 lane tunnels.
The highway has been abandoned for around 40 years and is in very rough shape. I would suggest you ride a mountain bike, cyclocross bike, or heavy duty road bike tires on this trail. Also, bring a light, the 2 long tunnels are very dark.
There are no cars on this abandoned road.
