About This Route

RIde proceedes from Drinishader into Tarbert and across the hils to Lewis via A859. CAUTION: The left turn at Luirbost is signposted Uig and not Callanish leading this idiot to keep going into Stornoway, before having to backtrack across the moor into a wicked head wind and driving rain. The wind in Lewis can be very strong with hazardous side gusts encountered riding down hairpin bends towards Loch Seaforth.

Highlights: heather in full bloom coating the landscape; Callanish standing stones.
