About This Route

My route from Frankfurt to Weimar followed the Bahn Radweg - Hessen from Maintal just east of Frankfurt to Bad Hersfeld; a beautiful and hilly ride through small towns. From there, regional bike routes, the Werratal Radweg, and the Ilmtal Radweg kept me off trafficked streets about half of the time to Weimar. The most beautiful old city was Schiltz, quite small. A much larger and beautiful, but much more touristed old city was in Erfurt.
