About This Route

From staying with friends in Bristol to the YHA Wye Valley in Welsh Bicknor.

The route out of Bristol is relatively flat, and you get a spectacular view as you go under the suspension bridge, but it's also relatively long and convoluted, and the latter half, before the bridge, is an awful industrial estate with few cycling facilities and many lorries. I'd recommend just slogging it straight through Bristol to the bridge.

There's a gradual climb out of Chepstow, and then you're rewarded with amazing descents and flats through the Wye Valley. This A-road wasn't too busy, either.

Out of Monmouth, follows the Perergrine Path through Symonds Yat, which is beautiful and highly recommended.

You will cycle on the following surfaces: Paved Unpaved
