Overview

About this route

0

A route planned for May 2017 along the Rhine and Moselle, cycling 500 km and marking 500 years of reformation history (Martin Luther's trial was in Worms) and 200 years since the invention of the bicycle first riden alongside  the Rhine.

I am taking my bike by train from Horsham to London, passing the Houses of Parliament and then on to St. Pancras.  I am then taking Eurostar to Paris, where I will be then taking the 200mph TGV to Strasbourg.  After going to church in Strasbourg (6th May) I shall be starting my journey, cycling on average 40 - 50 miles a day.  The main towns I shall be visiting are Karlsruhe,  Speyer, Heidelberg, Worms, Mainz, Rudesheim, Bingen, Boppard, Koblenz, Cochem and Trier.  On Monday the 15th May I take the train to Luxembourg and then have the rigmarole of packing the bike to meet the requirements of the airline, before flying back to Gatwick and home.

Depart Saturday 6th June  St. Pancras - Paris - Strasbourg via TGV.

Return Monday 15th May Luxembourg - Gatwick (Easyjet)
