Coastal route on less busy paved roads from Santa Cruz to Monterey/Carmel, then up the Carmel Valley on semi-paved and gravel roads through Los Padres National Forest and down to Cambria on the California Central Coast. 217 miles total. 22,000 feet of elevation gain. 5 big hills.
