Die Straße nach Hohegeiß ist teilweise steiler(<16%), als später am Brocken.

Die Straße von Hohegeiß nach Sorge ist leicht zu übersehen, da es sich hier nur um einen Feldweg handelt. Dieser wird jedoch nach einer Weile besser(Asphalt). Alternativ kann auch eine Route über Benneckenstein erfolgen.

Die letzten 12 km geht es auf der Brockenstraße bis zum Gipfel(6-11%).

Zur Zeit(2010) wird die Straße erneuert. Die untere Hälfte ist bereits fertiggestellt. Der Rest ist noch im holprigen Zustand und für eine schnelle Abfahrt gefährlich.
