Container Cycle Cafe, The View Tube, The Greenway, Marshgate Lane, E15 2PJ. The View Tube building in the middle of the Olympic construction site contains not only this friendly little café but an outpost of community cycle project Bikeworks. You can hire bikes from here and head off to explore the rapidly changing Lea Valley and the whole of east London.

Micycle Cycle Cafe 47 Barnsbury St, N1 1PT Hidden on a side road between Essex Road and Liverpool Road, this repair shop and cafe has the bonus of a leafy little garden in which to sip your coffee while your bike gets serviced. The range of food and drinks isn't huge, but staff are very friendly and helpful.

Cyclelab Cycle Cafe 18a Pitfield Street, N1 6EY Near enough to the City to draw in cycle couriers, this friendly little shop combines knowledgeable service (for all types of riders), a few bikes and accessories and a very healthy little cafe. Freshly squeezed fruit juices and smoothies are the speciality, but there's also coffee, tea and cakes for a little indulegnce. Seating is limited to a few stools in the window or a bench outside next to the cycle path.
