About This Route

This is a pretty epic mtb trip, quite long and with a lot of climbing. Easily the best mtb trail if you want to ride the Bucegi Mountains. If your training level is not at least medium, you should make this trip in 2 days, sleeping in Bran village. Starting in Sinaia alpine city, you constantly climb ultil Omu peak 2505 m, the highest in Bucegi. Until here you ride on forest roads, the last bit to Omu peak being really steep. From there you continue on trekking trail, which is quite good for mtb. You go up and down until Strunga saddle from where a long and epic descend starts to Bran resort.  In Bran you should have your main break, eat and rest a bit, because you still have a long way to go. You can spend the night here if you feel like it. There are a lot of hotels and guest houses. From Bran you continue on forest roads, but it's now easier. Still, you're still climbing. Your goal is to reach Diham mountain hut. From Diham you have a choice of descending to Busteni resort on trail (blue triangle marking trekking trail - not shown on this gpx) or head to asphalt, same as in this gpx route. You should make this choice if you reach Diham in the dark, since the area is quite bear territory.
