The tour starts in Forbach at Waldstrasse 18, at a small parking lot. First, you ride up the street (Sonnenhalde) to the end, then continue on the service road (Olympiaweg) towards Langenbach-Stall. At the junction to the stall, take the left paved road uphill towards the youth hostel. At the forest junction near the hostel, follow the path that goes slightly left. Soon you reach a beautifully designed area with a hay hut, wooden figures, water features, and a pond. From here, the path turns into a nice trail that takes you to Bermersbach. Down in the village, turn left onto Mühlweg. Now the climb begins, passing the picturesque Ebet mill and the wildlife enclosure up to Holzschuhrank. After the strenuous uphill, you can rest a bit at the hut with the fountain. Then continue right uphill to Wasserschlössle. Here, make a sharp left turn, climbing up to the Piccoshütte. After the hut, take the somewhat hidden, often overgrown trail to the left up to the Hochsitz. Depending on the weather, the trail can be muddy and may force you to push your bike. From the Hochsitz, you roll down a wide forest road and merge onto the scenic high-altitude path, which is mostly flat, leading to the Badener and Herrenwieser Sattel. At the latter, turn left, climbing to the Badener Höhe with its Friedrich tower built of red sandstone. A view from the tower over the surrounding area and wooden benches at its base invite for a longer rest and pause. The continuation starts behind the shelter on a trail that is narrow at first, soon wider but very rough and stony. Only very skilled riders will probably stay seated; dismounting and pushing is no shame. Further down at the fork, everything becomes rideable again. Here, turn left and roll down to just above Seebachhof towards the Schwarzenbach reservoir. On the descent, as always, please be considerate of hikers. Upon reaching the reservoir, you ride on a flat path along the shore and enjoy the picturesque scenery. At the end of the lake, near the dam, the descent begins. Passing close to the highway, continue to the old quarry located in a hollow. The short steep climb requires more strength and skillful shifting. After that, you can enjoy the flowing descent back to Forbach.
