About this route
Inzwischen ist die Ausschilderung des Berka-Vacha-Radwegs fertiggestellt. Dieser Radweg ist eine Alternative zum Werratalradweg und verläuft von Oberzella über Abteroda und Gospenroda nach Berka. Weil man noch keine Kartenansicht im Internet findet, hilft der ADFC gerne aus.
Die Strecke ist bis Auenheim durch den Ausbau eines Wirtschaftsweges sogar rennradtauglich. Ab Auenheim ist der Weg noch nicht ausgebaut, weshalb sich ein Ausweichen auf die nahegelegene Landstraße ratsam erscheint.
In Berka/Werra ist zur Zeit der Markt eine Riesenbaustelle. Eine Umleitung für Fahrräder ist leider noch nicht ausgewiesen.
Die Strecke ist 15 km lang und damit 9 km kürzer als der entsprechende Abschnitt des Werratalradwegs. Allerdings muss dabei ein Anstieg von ca. 130 Höhenmetern bewältigt werden.
