About This Route

Niet afgegraven hoogveen, heide en berken: dat is natuurgebied Zwinderseveld. Je fietst er dwars doorheen wanneer je op de Boerdijk fietst. Ook rondom Dalerpeel zijn een groot aantal hoogveengebieden te vinden, die steeds zeldzamer worden in Nederland. De ijsbaan van het dorp wordt in warmere periodes door vele kikkers gebruikt. De Verlengde Hoogeveense Vaart had zes bruggen, die vernoemd werden naar dorpjes die dicht in de buurt lagen. Zo werd het dorpje Gees op haar beurt weer vernoemd naar de brug...
