Von Casale Marittimo über Ponteginori Richtung Volterra. Der Anstieg vor Volterra sind 10 km bergauf, ein wenig anstrengend, aber einen hervorragenden Blick und wenn man in Volterra oben ist, dann überkommen einem die Glücksgefühle, es geschafft zu haben. Bin dann wieder hinter Volterra runter Richtung San Gimigniano. Es geht teilweise steil bergauf aber auch wunderschön bergab. Bin die Strecke sowohl hin als auch zurück gefahren. Man fühlt sich danach schon als Held, zweimal diese Berge (Volterra) bezwungen zu haben.
