Using the Ilmtalweg, starting in Ilmenau and finishing in Weimar at the train station. There is only a little ascent on this route, the road is mostly asphalt, mostly separate from car roads. In towns/villages you need to go on main roads, but they're empty most of the time anyway.  

Climb from Măguri-Răcătău along the Someșul Rece valley, ascent from the lake to the ridge, traverse through Măguri on the ridge, descent to the starting point.

Easy route with slight elevation, on an old train track that is now a bike path (professionally made with high quality asphalt). You have to go through the castle park in Gehren because of construction work on Schloßallee.
