Alcudia - Scenic tour towards Lluch

Cycling route in Port d'Alcudia, Balearic Islands, Spain

This mountain route, starting in Alcudia, takes you towards beautiful Lluch and is suitable for new and more experienced cyclists alike. Paved road along the entire route.   The route follows minor roads to Sa Pablo and Búger and further on towards Campanent – this part of the route may be a little difficult to find. Drive past the church square and turn left at the signpost reading “Coves” whereupon there will be a wooden signpost towards Selva. It is important that you continue to follow the road towards Selva and keep track of the direction.   From Selva the route follows a climb towards a petrol station which functions as a gathering point and where you can also buy provisions. The descent towards Pollenca is stunningly beautiful – and very long.   There are plenty of opportunities for detours to the coast or for extending the ride to Port de Pollenca if you want to add another 15 km to the route.   Enjoy the ride!

Alcudia - long ride to San Salvador climb

Cycling route in Port d'Alcudia, Balearic Islands, Spain

A relatively flat, not overly hilly ride culminating in the climb towards San Salvador. A beautiful route passing stunning nature, vineyards and small villages. On a cloudy day with a chance of showers it is a perfect ride with plenty of opportune pit stops along the way.

Alcudia - Puig Mayor (kongeetapen)

Cycling route in Port d'Alcudia, Balearic Islands, Spain

Starting in Alcudia the challenge of this route is the climb from Soller towards Puig Major. You start out following the minor roads leading south through beautiful landscape. After approximately 55 km the route takes you over the first mountain which has an ascent of 500 metres. Cars are lead through a tunnel, and therefore the road is scarcely trafficked. Once you arrive in Soller, you can buy provisions or have lunch at one of the restaurants in the town square. Please note that only bakeries are open on Sundays; all other shops are closed. From Soller the ascent continues over the next 14 kilometres with a tough gradient of 6 %. Prearrange to meet at the photo spot before the first tunnel. From here you follow the mountain ridge towards Lluch and can enjoy the long blissful descent to Pollenca.   Water/provisions: Bring two water bottles and use one en route to Bunyola and one during the following ascent. Buy water in Soller, so you have one bottle for the climb and one for the final descent. Bring an energy bar or have lunch in Soller.   Enjoy the ride!
