A day of interior landscapes nearly all on local roads but two short stretches on tracks by the sea. Marked by leaving Cantabria and entering Asturias, stopping overnight in the fishing village of San Vicente de la Barquera.

A day of country roads and tracks among beautiful landscapes. Colombres is noted for its many houses built by returning emigrants enriched after spending time in the New World. The day ends descending to the fishing port village of Llanes with its historic centre.

A day noted for passing beautiful beaches, quite crowded in summer, before turning inland and cycling more rural areas. A somewhat long day.

An interesting day with views of mountain and coastal landscapes. As the day progresses, the route turns away from the coast through hillier terrain than previous days. Villaviciosa is a pleasant town for an overnight stop.

Today, rather than turn onto the Camino Primitivo, the Camino del Norte continues on to Gijón. This one of the hardest sections with two teen ascents of 340 metres and 200 metres before a long drop to Gijón.
