Sentiero Italia Cycling Segments

A collection of 13 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

A mixed-surface collection that traces bikeable stretches of the Sentiero Italia across Italy's mountains and countryside. Expect a bit of everything: farm tracks and forest paths, quiet backroads, and the occasional busy connector. Surfaces vary a lot, and many are unmapped in OSM, so you could hit asphalt, gravel, or dirt on the same ride. There’s plenty of climbing, so low gears and good brakes help. A gravel bike with wide tires or an MTB is ideal. Use these routes as pick-and-choose day rides, or link a few for a bigger tour. Towns and villages show up often enough for water and snacks, but services can be sparse in remote stretches. Watch for traffic where the line follows main roads, and respect local signs—some parts of the Sentiero Italia are hiking-first and may have access rules or seasonal closures. Download offline maps and check conditions ahead of time; weather and surfaces can change fast.
