About this collection

Ride a classic slice of Czechia’s Amber Trail. This follows Cycle Route 5, echoing the old trade line that ran across Central Europe. It’s mostly smooth asphalt with a few gravel and short unpaved bits mixed in.

Expect a blend of quiet roads, dedicated cycleways, and some forest tracks, with the odd short link on busier roads. Terrain is gently rolling—about 300 m up and 300 m down—so it’s easygoing but not boring. A touring or gravel bike is ideal; road bikes are fine if you’re okay with brief rough patches.

Great for a relaxed half‑day ride or as part of a longer north–south tour. After rain, the gravel can get soft, and lights help for the occasional road section. Look for wayfinding marked with “5” or “Amber Trail.”

Simple, varied, and never far from a coffee stop—perfect for exploring at a comfortable pace.
