SacraVelo Cycle Network

A collection of 10 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

0

A cross‑border cycling network in the Danube region, SacraVelo links churches, chapels, and historic town centers across Slovakia and Hungary. Most riding is on smooth cycleways and quiet village roads, with some gravel tracks, paving stones, and the occasional cobbled patch. You may hit short links on busier roads and even a few steps, so plan routes if you’re with kids or running skinny tires.

This is a collection, not a single A‑to‑B route, so start anywhere and stitch together loops that fit your day. It’s generally flat near the rivers, with gentle rises as you head inland. A trekking or gravel bike is perfect; road bikes are fine with a bit of care on the unpaved bits.

Make time to stop—there are plenty of photogenic churches, shady squares, and easy café breaks along the way. Bring lights for dull weather or dusk, follow local SacraVelo waymarks where you see them, and enjoy relaxed, culture‑rich miles by the water.
