Tour Brandenburg Cycle Route

A big loop around Germany’s Brandenburg state, skirting Berlin and linking lake country, rivers, and pretty brick towns. It’s roughly 1,080 km with about 4,200 m of total climbing, so mostly flat and ideal for multi-day touring. Expect long stretches of asphalt with some gravel and cobbles through forests and villages, plus the odd sandy patch in pine woods. Highlights include the Spreewald’s canals, the Havel lakes around Brandenburg an der Havel, quiet meadows in the Uckermark, and views along the Oder near the Polish border. You’ll ride a mix of cycle paths and quiet roads most of the time, with short links on busier roads here and there. It’s a full loop, so start anywhere—Potsdam, Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder), or wherever the train drops you. A touring or gravel bike with 35–40 mm tires is comfy. Split it into week-long chunks, swim in the lakes on hot days, and enjoy relaxed, car-light pedaling through one of Germany’s flattest, greenest regions.
