Avenue Verte London–Paris: French Section

A collection of 15 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

Ride the French leg of the Avenue Verte linking London and Paris. This collection covers the signposted stretches across Normandy and ĂŽle-de-France, rolling from the Channel toward the capital on a mix of car-free greenways, cycleways, and quiet back roads.

Surfaces are mostly smooth and paved, with some gravel and short unpaved bits. Touring, hybrid, or gravel bikes are ideal; road bikes work with slightly wider tires. Expect a few brief busy-road connectors and the odd set of steps or cobbles near towns.

Think riverside paths, forests, farm lanes, and parks as you near Paris. Wayfinding is generally straightforward—look for Avenue Verte / London–Paris signs. Towns are never too far for food, water, and train links if you want to hop on or cut a day short.

Figure roughly 350 km on the French side with rolling climbs overall—great for a multi-day tour or picking off favorite sections for day rides.
