Rottweil–Balingen Cycle Route
A collection of 5 cycling routes.A relaxed link between Rottweil and Balingen through the foothills of the Swabian Alb. You roll out from Germany’s oldest town—think medieval towers and the eye‑catching Rottweil Testturm—and glide toward Balingen’s pretty old town and the Eyach valley. Expect mostly paved riding on quiet roads and farm tracks, with a couple of short gravel bits and a brief stretch on busier road—nothing wild, just keep your eyes up. It’s gently rolling with a slight net descent toward Balingen, so it works well in that direction if you want an easier day.
Best on a trekking/hybrid or gravel bike; road bikes are fine if you’re okay with some compacted gravel. There are plenty of spots for coffee and snacks in both towns, plus train connections at each end for an easy return (check bike carriage rules). Good choice for a half‑day spin with countryside views, river crossings, and a touch of small‑town charm along the way.
