This collection follows the signposted F18 cycle highway, stitched together from dedicated cycleways and quiet local roads, with just a few short busy stretches. It’s paved almost end to end (asphalt and concrete), so it rolls smoothly in all weather.
Great for commuting or a weekend spin. You can ride it either way; both cities have train stations for easy one‑way trips. Expect a few crossings and short track/path bits—nothing tricky, just keep an eye out.
Highlights at the ends: Sint‑Niklaas’ huge market square and Mechelen’s charming historic center. Plenty of options for a coffee stop along the way.
