About this collection

Follow the River Vecht through the Vechtdal on an easy, scenic ride. The route links classic Dutch towns like Zwolle, Dalfsen, Ommen, and Hardenberg, with an option to roll across the border into Germany. Expect mostly smooth, paved surfaces on quiet roads and dedicated cycleways, with a few short bits of gravel or sand. It’s flat, relaxed, and ideal for families or a breezy weekend tour.

You’ll get river meadows, woodlands, and charming villages with plenty of cafés right by the water. Ride it in either direction and mix up the distance as you like. Trains along the Zwolle–Emmen line make it easy to start, finish, or bail when the legs say enough.

Good for: casual cruising, first bikepacking trips, and anyone who wants big-sky river views without the climbs. Bring a windproof layer and enjoy the flow.
