Explore the Heidiland region in eastern Switzerland on a mix of quiet roads, lakeside lanes, vineyard alleys, and forest tracks. Expect big alpine views, punchy climbs, and fun descents between Walensee and the Rhine valley.

Highlights along the network: Bad Ragaz with its famous thermal baths, Maienfeld (the Heidi Village), the castle in Sargans, plus the slopes of Pizol and Flumserberg. Most routes are paved, with manageable gravel sections—great for fitness bikes, gravel bikes, or e-bikes. A few short stretches use busier roads, so ride single file and keep it smooth.

Choose mellow valley loops for an easy spin, or head uphill for a proper workout. Water fountains are common in villages, and cafés are never far. Best season is late spring to autumn; mountain weather changes fast, so pack a layer.

Getting there is easy by train: Sargans, Bad Ragaz, Walenstadt, or Flums all make solid starting points. Share paths with hikers, ring a bell on blind corners, and enjoy the blend of lake, vineyards, and mountains.
