Wiggertal–Glaubenberg

Valley-to-pass goodness in central Switzerland. This collection links the flat Wiggertal with the climb up to the Glaubenberg Pass, mixing quiet country roads, farm tracks, and a few short paths. It’s a proper day out with around 2,500 m of climbing and a long, rewarding descent. Expect mostly paved riding with some gravel sprinkled in, and only a tiny bit of dedicated cycleway—so be comfortable sharing the road. 32–40 mm tires are ideal.

You roll through classic Lucerne farmland before heading into forested highlands and the moor landscapes around Glaubenberg. On a clear day, the Alpine views near the pass are a treat. Services are easy to find in the valley; they thin out as you climb, so top up water and snacks before the big push.

Heads-up: short links on busier roads pop up here and there, and surface info is patchy in places—be ready for mixed conditions. The pass road often closes in winter, so check status before you go. Ride it valley-to-pass for the classic finish, or flip it for a big descent right out of the gate.
