GraubĂĽnden Bike: Trun Loop

A collection of 19 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

A classic loop around Trun in Graubünden (Grisons), Switzerland. It links the Vorderrhein valley’s quiet village roads with farm tracks, forest gravel, and a few short road sections. Expect steady Alpine climbs and flowing descents, plus big views across the Surselva.

Ride it on a mountain bike or a confident gravel setup. Surfaces swing between gravel and asphalt with occasional rough bits, and most of the time you’re on tracks and quiet roads; there are brief stints on busier tarmac—heads up for traffic.

Refuel is easy in Trun and nearby villages. Trun has a train station on the Chur–Disentis line, so getting here by public transport is simple. As always in the Alps, pack a layer and enough water, and watch for livestock gates and hikers.

Short, scenic, and low on navigation faff—perfect for a half‑day escape with that big‑mountain feel.
