Bicivia 1 – Barcelona cycle route

A collection of 5 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

Bicivia 1 is a signed backbone of Barcelona’s metropolitan bike network. It strings together long stretches of separated cycleway with a few shared pedestrian areas and short bits on quiet local streets and paths. Most of it is paved (mainly asphalt and paving stones), with the odd gravel or sandy patch, so any city or hybrid bike is fine.

The route rides easy overall with gentle elevation (around 60–70 m total), so it works for commuting, sightseeing, and family spins. You can hop on anywhere along the corridor to link up neighborhoods and key spots across the metro area.

Tips: slow down in shared zones and give way to pedestrians, and watch for junctions where the bike lane mixes with traffic. Follow the Bicivia signs and lane markings to stay on track.
