P'tites Routes du Soleil (Cycle Route)

A collection of 9 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

A sun-soaked slice of the P’tites Routes du Soleil on quiet French backroads. This collection links roughly 200 km of riding with a solid dose of climbing (about 4,700 m up, 4,400 m down). It’s mostly smooth asphalt with just a few short unpaved bits, so road bikes are fine; 28–32 mm tires make the occasional gravel sections easy.

Expect classic scenery and balcony lanes that feel made for touring. Most segments are on regular roads: plenty of calm lanes, but also some busier stretches—bring lights and stay alert.

Tips:

  • Split it into 3–4 days and roll from village to village.
  • Start early in summer; heat and traffic build later.
  • Services can be spread out—carry extra water and snacks.

Navigation is straightforward with a GPX. Surfaces change briefly, and there’s almost no technical off-road. If you’re after the quieter, scenic alternative to the big mountain highways, this route delivers: steady climbs, big views, and long, sunny miles.
