Gold Coast–Limmat
Lake Zurich Gold Coast – Limmat
A collection of 3 cycling routes.
Overview
About this collection
From the sunny “Gold Coast” on Lake Zurich’s right bank to the Limmat river, this collection strings together lakeside views, quiet back roads, and shady forest tracks into Zurich. It’s a chill mix of mostly paved riding with some gravel and farm tracks thrown in, plus the odd short busy connector. Expect rolling terrain with a few punchy ramps—nothing wild, but enough to keep it interesting.
Great for fitness spins or mellow cruisers alike. A road bike works, but 30–35 mm tires make the gravel bits more fun. You’ll pass classic Gold Coast towns like Küsnacht and Meilen, then wind toward the city and the Limmat’s easy riverside paths. Cafés and swim spots pop up all along the lake and river—pack a towel if it’s warm.
Start anywhere along the shore or near central Zurich; S-Bahn stations line the route for easy bailouts. Family‑friendly sections sit by the lake and river—just watch for walkers. Ride it either direction and enjoy that lakes-to-river flow.
