Riga - Pskov Greenway
A collection of 4 cycling routes.Cross-border gravel adventure from Latvia’s capital to historic Pskov. Expect roughly 150–160 km of riding, mostly on unpaved tracks and quiet backroads, with a few busier road links and almost no dedicated cycleway. The terrain is mostly flat to gently rolling, so the challenge is more about surfaces than climbs.
Scenery is classic Baltic: pine forests, open fields, small villages, and long, quiet stretches between services. After rain, sections can turn muddy or sandy, so a gravel or MTB setup (think 40 mm+ tires) is the way to go.
Plan your stops—shops and water aren’t everywhere. Lights and a basic repair kit are smart, and offline maps help when the track gets faint.
Important: this route crosses the Latvia–Russia border. Check visa and entry rules, and make sure your chosen crossing is open to cyclists.
Roll out from Riga’s urban buzz, finish by Pskov’s riverside kremlin—simple, scenic, and a bit wild in between.
