EuroVelo 6 – Dunajská cyklomagistrála (Slovensko)

Classic route along the Danube through Slovakia. The EuroVelo 6 runs from Bratislava along the embankment through the Danube floodplain forests and the Gabčíkovo water work to Komárno and further to Štúrovo, with views of Devín and the basilica in Esztergom. The profile is almost flat – an easy ride for everyone. The surface is mostly smooth asphalt and separate cycle paths, sometimes quiet roads through villages and short busier stretches in towns; unpaved sections are minimal. Along the route, there are pleasant spots to rest by the river. It can be windy on the embankment and there is less shade, so water and sunscreen are advisable. You can split the route into stages or ride longer blocks; navigation is simple – you mostly follow the river all the time.
