Dietikon - Schwyz

Dietikon - Schwyz

A cycling tour with 4 stages, starting in Schwyz, Canton of Schwyz, Switzerland.

Overview

About this tour

A solid cross-canton ride linking the Zurich region to Central Switzerland. Start in Dietikon and roll to Schwyz (or ride it the other way). Expect a mix of quiet back roads, bike paths, and a few farm tracks. It’s mostly paved with some gravel sections, so wider tires are a plus. The profile is rolling with a good chunk of climbing (around 800 m up) and a bit more downhill overall, so bring gears and decent brakes. You’ll pass through small villages and open fields, with mountain views on clear days. There are a few short busy road stretches—stay alert and ride single file. Best suited to a sturdy road bike with 28 mm+ tires or a gravel bike. Great from spring to autumn; check the weather and daylight. A fun point-to-point day out that connects ZH and SZ without getting too remote, with enough variety to keep it interesting from start to finish.
