Goderich–Guelph Rail Trail

Goderich to Guelph Rail Trail

Goderich–Guelph Rail Trail

A collection of 6 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

A long, mostly off-road ride linking Goderich and Guelph on a former rail corridor. Expect big stretches of unpaved and loose-gravel surface, with only short paved bits and the odd wooden bridge. Grades stay gentle, and most of the way is dedicated trail, with a few brief links on quiet roads and the occasional busy crossing.

You’ll roll past farm country and small towns—easy to sample in short segments or stitch together for a full gravel adventure. Wider tires help, especially after rain, and the unpaved sections can be soft in places. Services are clustered in communities along the route, so plan water and snacks between stops.

Best on gravel or touring bikes, fine on hybrids. Ride it either direction, keep an eye on changing surface conditions, and share the path with other trail users.
