Asparagus Cycle Route

A collection of 5 cycling routes.

Overview

About this collection

A themed collection of easygoing rides through asparagus country. Expect a relaxed mix of farm tracks and quiet backroads, linking small towns and open fields. Most sections are paved (lots of asphalt and concrete), with regular stretches of gravel, paving stones, and the odd cobbled bit, plus a very short set of steps where you might hop off. You’ll also pass a few pedestrian areas—roll slow or walk if it’s busy.

The terrain is mostly gentle with a few short ups and downs, so it suits touring and gravel bikes, or a sturdy city bike with wider tires. Slick race tires aren’t ideal on the looser gravel. Traffic stays low; busy road segments are rare and brief.

Ride any time of year; in asparagus season you might spot local farm stands and festive vibes. Use the collection for a mellow weekend loop or a scenic after‑work spin linking villages and farmland. Pack a snack, watch for farm machinery, and enjoy the fields, fresh air, and quiet lanes.
