EuroVelo 10: Baltic Sea Cycle Route (Germany)

Ride the German stretch of EuroVelo 10 along the Baltic Sea coast. It links the shores of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, rolling past beaches, dunes, harbors, and classic Hanseatic cities like Lübeck, Wismar, Rostock, Stralsund, and Greifswald.

The route is mostly flat, with gentle ups and downs and the odd bridge climb. Expect a lot of paved cycling—cycleways and quiet roads—mixed with some gravel, cobbles, and paving stones, plus the occasional short busy-road link. It’s great for touring bikes; wider tires (35 mm+) make the gravel and cobbles more comfortable.

Wayfinding is usually well signed as Ostseeküsten-Radweg/EV10. You’ll pass seaside resorts, forests, and bird-rich coastal wetlands, with plenty of spots for swims, fish rolls, and sunset piers. Wind can be a factor on open sections, so plan your days with the forecast in mind.

Perfect for a multi-day trip, with lots of places to stay—from campsites to beachfront hotels—and good train connections along the coast for flexible stages. If you want long coastal views and easygoing riding with a few rustic surfaces thrown in, this is your route.
