Capital Area Greenway System
A collection of 3 cycling routes.A connected greenway network made for easy city cycling. This collection links roughly 55 km of mostly smooth, paved paths—largely dedicated cycleways—so you can ride traffic-free for long stretches. Expect a few short links on quiet roads and pedestrian areas, plus occasional wooden or metal deck sections and tiny unpaved bits.
The terrain is gentle overall, with modest climbing spread out along the way, making it friendly for casual spins, commuting, or longer fitness rides. Start anywhere, mix and match segments, or build your own loop—the routes are flexible and welcoming for all levels.
Any bike works (road, hybrid, gravel); slick tires roll fastest on the prevalent asphalt. If you plan to include the brief unpaved/path sections, slightly wider tires add comfort.
Perfect for everyday rides, weekend cruising, and discovering green spaces across the city without straying far from civilization.
