About this collection
Follow France’s Loire River from the heart of the country to the Atlantic on the Loire Valley Cycle Route (La Loire à Vélo), a mostly flat, well-signposted ride that’s part of EuroVelo 6. Expect riverside paths, quiet lanes, and a few short gravel or farm-track stretches—fine for most bikes with comfy tires.
This collection links classic stages past vineyards, villages, and world‑famous châteaux. Towns like Orléans, Blois, Tours, Saumur, Angers, and Nantes make easy stops for coffee, culture, and overnight stays, with plenty of bike-friendly services and handy train connections.
Ride it either way, though many go east‑to‑west to follow the river and catch friendlier winds. Spring to autumn is prime: fresh greens and blooms in late spring, long sunny days in summer, and golden, quieter paths in September.
