Cyklostezka Ohře: Cheb–Litoměřice

A relaxed long-distance ride along the Ohře River from Cheb to Litoměřice. It mostly follows bike paths and quiet roads, sometimes paved paths and gravel, so a trekking or gravel bike is ideal. The profile is mostly flat in the river floodplain, with occasional short waves around meanders, embankments, and bridges.

Along the way, you pass many nice places: historic Cheb, the romantic Loket Castle above a river bend, the spa town Karlovy Vary, Klášterec nad Ohří and Kadaň, the hop-growing region around Žatec and Louny, and finally the picturesque Litoměřice at the confluence with the Elbe. Coffee, spa wafers, swimming, and views into rocky valleys – all this is on the route.

Expect a mix of surfaces (mainly asphalt, but also gravel, cobblestones, and wooden footbridges) and short sections on busier roads in towns. Signage varies in places, so a map in your pocket is useful. Thanks to good train connections in larger towns, you can easily split the route into relaxed one-day stages.
