EuroVelo 11 - East Europe Route
EuroVelo 11: Norway
A collection of 3 cycling routes.
Overview
About this collection
Ride the Norway stretch of EuroVelo 11 — the East Europe Route linking the Arctic to the Mediterranean. Expect big northern landscapes, coastal views, and open tundra, with long summer days and fast-changing weather.
The route here is mostly paved and sticks to cycleways and quiet roads, with only short patches of gravel or unpaved track. Busy road sections are rare. It’s friendly for touring bikes; 28–35 mm tires work fine, and going a bit wider helps on the rougher bits.
Terrain ranges from gentle rollers to a few punchy climbs. Services can be spread out, so plan food, water, and layers. Summer (roughly May–September) is the sweet spot, though wind and cool temps are common even then.
Use this collection to stitch together day rides or a longer tour through Norway’s far north, then continue along EV11 toward Finland and on through Eastern Europe.
